The NBA 2k23 tournament will take place on Friday, October 28th and have a 6 p.m. start time.

The tournament will be a head-to-head best of 1 (single elim/double elim) bracket.

Each match will be played in the 3v3 blacktop mode.

Competitors may only choose current NBA players for their roster.

Competitors will play rock-paper-scissors Bo3 to decide who will be the home team (starts with ball).

Game Details:

  • All regions
  • There is no jump ball, game play will begin with the home team starting out with possession at half-court (Or shoot for ball)
  • No quarters
  • No timeouts
  • No pauses
  • No intermissions
  • No mid game substitutions
  • Court Size: Standard full 3v3 2K court
  • Shot Clock: 24 seconds; after an offensive rebound, the shot clock resets to 14 seconds

Each game will have a 20 minute timer and be the first to 21 and win by 2.

If the 20 minute timer runs out, the person with the most points at the end will be the winner.

If there is a tie at the end of the 20 minutes, there will be a 2 minute running clock overtime. Team with the most points at the end of overtime wins.

If there is a tie at the end of overtime, the competitors will go head-to-head in sudden death, which will be the first person to score. Competitors will “shoot for ball” to determine who starts with the ball in overtime.

Shots inside the arc will count as 1 and outside the arc will count as 2.

The prize will be $100 for first place and $50 for second place.

If Double Elimination Bracket:

After round 1 the winning team will advance in the winning bracket while the loser will drop down into the loser bracket.

If a team in the loser bracket loses again, they are out of the tournament. If they win, they will continue their run in the loser bracket.

Teams in the winner and loser bracket will continue their runs until there is 1 team left in both brackets.

Both teams in the winner and loser bracket will then go head-to-head in Grand Finals.

The winner bracket team must only win one match to be crowned the winner while the loser bracket team must win 2 matches to be crowned the winner.
