Metro's live online STEM courses teach game design, coding, and digital creativity through hands-on projects. Join from home or in person — the same class, the same Metro instructor, the same experience.
Online students participate through a live Zoom classroom with their Metro instructor. These are not prerecorded or self-paced courses.
One Class. Two Ways to Join.
Students participate in the same class at the same time — whether they attend at a Metro/YMCA location or join live from home. It's one shared classroom, not two separate experiences.

Students attending in person receive:

- Learn alongside in-person and online classmates
Join from home
Students can also participate remotely through a live Zoom call. Online students receive:
- The same live Metro instructor
- The same curriculum
- The same class projects
- Live interaction with the instructor
- Opportunities to collaborate with classmates
- No commute required — participate from anywhere with the required technology
Students are in the same class at the same time, regardless of whether they attend in person or online.

Metro STEM courses may now be offered across three learning levels — so students can find the right starting point and keep building from there.
Designed as an introduction to the subject. Students learn foundational concepts, tools, and skills.
Students explore more advanced tools, projects, and creative applications.
Students apply what they have learned through more complex projects and advanced concepts.
Previous levels are not prerequisites.
Families may select whichever course best matches the student's interests and experience — no prior level required.
Complete all three levels. Earn accredited certification.
Students who successfully complete all three levels within a course pathway can earn an accredited STEM certification in that subject area.
